Machine Builder
REQUIREMENTS: Graduated from a trade school machinist program or have equivalent machining experience. Meets or exceeds the machinist apprentice and machine builder responsibilities. Can complete the build of a machine including plumbing, tryout and machine troubleshooting to meet the customer’s specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finish Machine Build
- Verify components are assembled correctly.
- Plumb the air, hydraulic, and/or grease items.
- Adjust components as needed through tryout.
- Apply any finishing welds, tighten all fasteners, and verify machine is complete.
Tryout Machine
- Run machine processes.
- Identify any problems.
Troubleshoot Problems
- Notify design and/or sales for any customer issues.
- Wrong or out of spec material.
- Design differences.
- Incorrect processes
- Make necessary adjustments.
On Site Customer Repair and/or Maintenance as Needed
- Travel to customer’s location to repair or maintain equipment.
- Travel to customer’s location to setup new equipment.
Assist with Other Positions in Shop
- Assist with assembly, build, CNC and electrical work as needed.
- Assist with shop and building maintenance as needed.
Cleanup Shop and Work Area
- Return any unused material back to correct location in the shop.
- Tag any material specific to a job.
- Put all tools away.
- Sweep & clean all work areas
- Notify supervisor for any maintenance or supplies needed for shop equipment.
